Violin: This program is currently offered in grades 2 and 3.
Recorder: This program is currently offered in grades K and 1.
Cookshop: K-2 and 3-5 participate in the citywide Cookshop program; learning about where food comes from and exploring how to make healthy choices.
Cookshop Families: We offer monthly family cooking workshops through the Cookshop program; families are welcome to visit and participate in a healthy recipe making demonstration.
Visual Art: Students in grades k-5 participate in weekly visual arts classes where they explore art materials, techniques and learn art history. Our program is aligned to the NYC Blueprint for Art Education. Families are invited to participate in our annual Family Art Night and create artwork along with their children.
Theater: Students participate in original theater productions through out the school year as well as learn about theater concepts through master lectures.
Dance: We offer dance during the school day as well as through workshops and partnerships with local cultural institutions such as the Cynthia King Dance Studio.
Pets in the Classroom: By participating in Pets in the Classroom we are able to provide our students with the opportunity to learn about, care for, and study different kinds of animals in the Science lab as well as the classroom.
Coding Lab: Our state of the art technology lab recently received an upgrade grant and will now be better than ever! We also currently offer grade wide laptop carts to all of our students for their research needs.
Swimming: Our 2nd grade students participate in weekly swimming lessons at a local community pool. Our goal is for all of our students to learn how to swim by the end of 2nd grade.
